Question 1

What is BuilderHunt?

Accepted Answer

BuilderHunt is a developer discovery tool that aggregates public activity from GitHub, Reddit, Hacker News, DEV.to and more, scores it for recency, and lets you save searches, get alerts, and track the people behind the work — not just the repositories.

Question 2

Is BuilderHunt free?

Accepted Answer

BuilderHunt has a Free plan that stays free: 3 saved searches, 50 saved builders, and full access to the public explore and blog pages, with no credit card required. Paid plans (Pro, Pro Max, Team) add smart alerts, semantic search, AI sourcing sprints and a monthly credit grant.

Question 3

Do I need API tokens for the sources?

Accepted Answer

No. Every source works out of the box with no setup on your end — there is nothing for you to configure or supply.

Question 4

How is the activity score calculated?

Accepted Answer

The score is a recency-weighted blend of stars, forks, upvotes, karma, and posts. Recent activity is worth much more than old activity, so the top of your results are the people shipping now.
